  1. National Association of Boards of Pharmacy is an impartial professional organization that supports the state boards of pharmacy in creating uniform regulations to protect public health. Search their website to find Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS), accredited online pharmacies.

  2. International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) is a global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), whose mission is to improve global health by advancing pharmacy practice and science to enable better discovery, development, access to and safe use of appropriate, cost-effective, quality medicines worldwide.

  3. Pharmaceutical Security Institute is a not-for-profit, membership organization dedicated to protecting public health through sharing information on the counterfeiting of pharmaceuticals and initiating enforcement actions. PSI membership includes twenty-five pharmaceutical manufacturers from many nations.

  4. Permanent Forum on International Pharmaceutical Crime is an international enforcement forum aimed at protecting public health and safety by combating pharmaceutical crime, through the exchange of information and ideas to foster mutual cooperation.

  5. Partnership for Safe Medicines brings together patient, physician, pharmacist, university, industry and other professional organizations to promote consumer safety in prescription medicines.

  6. Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP) is a nonprofit organization comprised of patient groups,  pharmacists, health regulators, pharmacies, manufacturers and other healthcare stakeholders.  ASOP is dedicated to protecting patient safety globally and ensuring patient access to safe and legitimate online pharmacies in accordance with applicable laws.  As part of this mission, ASOP works to raise Public Awareness.

  7. Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies (CSIP) is a nonprofit organization whose members include companies in the Internet ecosystem including domain name registries, registrars, shipping companies, payment processors, and advertising service providers. CSIP works to promote and encourage safe online pharmacies through education, enforcement and information sharing.

  8.   9. Fight the Fakes is a newly minted campaign launched by ten global health organizations to raise awareness about fake medicines.  Its goal is to build a movement between organizations and individuals to bring attention to the issue of counterfeit medicines as a threat to global public health.  Fight the Fakes recently released its joint statement and terms of reference.
