Selling US products through Joint Ventures and Licensing in Algeria.

Algerian companies are increasingly interested in joint venture opportunities with U.S. partners as a means to modernize their factories or license technology. Some U.S. firms have expressed interest in joint ventures in Algeria; however, they should know that they must comply with the 51 percent Algerian majority-ownership requirement on all investment in Algeria. (See Chapter 2 on Investment Climate for details.) Many internationally branded products are manufactured, bottled, or assembled in Algeria.
